My perfect pick a path

 Kia Ora and welcome back,

GOALS: Measure angles using degrees L3 (Identify and construct right, acute and obtuse angles, know the number of degrees that make a quarter turn, half turn, three quarter turn and a whole turn. Know that the angle at a point is 360°

This week for maths we have been looking at angles. So as my create I made a pick a path all about angles. One of my favourite angles is the 360 one because it is a full circle and the circle is actually one of my favourites shapes.

Here is my pick a path

What is your favourite angle???

House of bricks recount

Kia Ora and welcome back bloggers,

last Friday we had the house of bricks come in to our school to do a butch of LEGO activities to help build up our grit some of the activities that we did were make LEGO mosaic's, we also did a competition of who could get there car to go faster and then after that we did another competition in groups of four to five so that we could then make a huge huge tower with just LEGO.

here is my house of bricks reflection writing

My favourite Lego activity was building the cars because it was a great challenge and I also really enjoyed going back and testing it over and over again after testing it a lot me and my buddy Sophie realised that the longer and heavier it was the faster it will go so at the last couple of minutes we started adding all this crazy stuff on it to make it go even faster.

My least favourite Lego activity was making the mosaics because after I finished doing one of the designs I had to take it all apart and start again and for me taking it apart took so long and was also really frustrating.

The activity that tested my perseverance the most was building the towers because if you get too high then it will just break. Our team's tower broke when it got too high and too thin and that was a little bit annoying.

The most challenging activity was the towers because it was hard trying to get the perfect structure and also be quick. Near the end my fingers were so sore.

I enjoyed working collaboratively with others because it made it so much easier to get everything done and I also think that two brains are better than one brain.

My Water Pollution Animation

Kia Ora and welcome back bloggers,

Our goal for this week is Support ideas with detail, write content relevant to the task., use reference sources to check meanings and find new words.

This weeks create task for reading was to make something that teaches people about water or air pollution and that also conveniences people to stop littering. So I picked an animation about water pollution. here is the link to my animation.

Have you ever made an animation?

How to write a explanation text

This week in writing our create task was to make a poster or video with at least 5 examples of how to write a explanation text. so I chose to do a poster (if you want to see my poster click on the link)

Have you ever wrote an explanation text and if you have what was it about?

Perfect persuasive writing

Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog,

For the past 3 weeks we have been in lock down and today was our first day back at school I was so excited to be back in school.

When we were in lock down we did some online learning. For this weeks learning I did some persuasive writing we had a whole list of topics to chose from I chose pets should not be allowed in school.
here is my persuasive writing

Pets should not be allowed in school
I believe that pets should not be allowed in school for many different reasons.

For instance what if someone had an allergy or they were scared of the pets. Also where would we put them? We don't have any cages. Pets like dogs and even cats need a lot of attention, and you can't expect a student to do that while managing studies as well.

Some students may have a hard time focusing on the teacher when there are animals in the classroom. Also what would we feed them for a whole day, they would need to eat something just like we do.

Do you think pets should or should not be allowed in school??

Great Graphs

Kia ora and welcome back, how are you?

This week for maths we had to make graphs of all sorts of graphs, so I chose to do a bar graph and a histogram.

My goal is to display data using a stem and leaf graph, choose an appropriate data, display using more than one variable, interpret information from graphs plan an investigation.

how we did it: first we started of by asking people in the hub what was there favourite number, mine is the number 50, what is yours? Then we did a stem and leaf graph in our books with all the data we collected. Next we asked everyone if they would rather do a bur pee or a push up, mine was a push up, then finally we did one of birthday months (if you want to see some of my graphs click the link)

What month were you born in???
